My name is Edie Lévesque, I am a 23 years old student-athlete and soon to be an Educator. I’m delighted to use my knowledge and skills to enhance virtual workplace engagement training focused on anticipating and planning for corporate clients.
Throughout my hockey career, I have faced many challenges. To begin, living in a remote Northern Ontario town the closest arena was 2.5 hours away – Luckily I had a very supportive family who would make that trip up to 3 times a week, while most of my homework & assignments would be done in the truck on the way. Being a female athlete, there were no girls hockey teams in my Region. At the age of 14, I moved 12 hours away to attend Canadian International Hockey Academy where I knew no one and barely any English language. Luckily, there was hockey to connect me and a universal language so I learned the most through my teammates.
These challenges shaped me into the person I am today, I can define myself in many ways but
Perseverance – Work Ethic – Organization – Appreciation are the most meaningful to me when I think of my hockey journey.
I completed my undergrad with Honours Specialization in French for Teaching while playing
4 years for the Varsity Western Mustang Women’s Hockey Team. Currently, I am in my final year of Teachers College at Laurentian will playing with Voyageurs Women’s Hockey Team
I joined the ProPacts team because I truly believe in the mission and what sport can bring if taught to be more than just a physical sport. Hockey brought me a lot of things – new friends, a new language, skills and opportunities and I value all of those qualities more than the game itself!
